If you are unfamiliar with IRC, here are some tips to get you started
 

1) Type in the white box below the chat window and hit enter to send your message
2) Use the command /nick to change your user name (no spaces), i.e. /nick MaryJane
3) Double click a name to private message
4) If you get disconnected refreshing your browser with log you in automatically
